I make my bedroom on the second floor of a single family detached dwelling. This living space was originally attic space in the house and converted to living space in the 1980s. Due to significant head losses in the central air duct work leading to the bedroom and an undersized central air compressor unit the room is very warm during the summer season. A window air conditioner isn't practical due to the casement style windows, and I didn't want to go through the trouble of installing duct work for one of the floor, inside, portable units. Therefore, I figured out a temporary measure to alleviate the heat on any particularly hot summer nights. I present to you, the Redneck Air Conditioner. Enjoy!
